An affordable wedding venue in Stellenbosch is one whose full cost fits your wedding budget. A low hire fee tells you little until you add the meal, drinks, staff, furniture and any compulsory extras.
These two venues publish useful cost information. They are examples to compare, not a ranking of the cheapest venues or a guarantee that either fits your budget. Both are in the wider Stellenbosch farm area rather than a town-centre venue.

Two official cost structures to compare

Eikenhof: hire changes with the day
Eikenhof is in the Stellenbosch farmland area. Its official wedding page lists peak-season venue hire for 1 September 2026 to 30 April 2027 at R24,900 Sunday to Friday and R30,300 on Saturdays and public holidays. The published difference is R5,400.
The same page describes Cap Classique as an indoor reception space for up to 120. These are venue-hire figures, not whole-wedding prices. Ask what the quoted hire includes, whether VAT is included, which services are compulsory and what catering and drinks would add for your group.

401 Rozendal: standard hire and a bundled alternative
401 Rozendal’s official 2025/2026 information pack places it 11 km from Stellenbosch town. Standard venue hire is listed at R65,000 for a summer weekend and R50,500 for a winter weekday, including VAT. Those are different season-and-day combinations, not interchangeable prices for one date.
The standard hire includes eight hours of exclusive venue use, on-the-day coordination, listed furniture and tableware, staff, cleaning and a generator. The pack also offers a separate all-inclusive option with a different scope. Do not assume the standard hire includes that option’s food, flowers, photographs or other services.

Compare the same wedding at each venue
Request one quote for the same date or date window, adult and child guest counts, ceremony, meal format and celebration length. Put every mandatory item into your comparison before deciding what is optional.
- Hire and spaces: ceremony, reception, getting ready, setup access and the covered alternative.
- Food and drinks: menu, minimum spend, tasting, drinks allowance, corkage and bar arrangement.
- Service and equipment: staffing, service charge, linen, furniture, sound and any supplier restrictions.
- Time and stays: extra hours, early access, compulsory accommodation and the rooms you must pay for.
- Cash needed upfront: refundable deposits, damage deposits and the timing of every payment.
Test affordability against your own ceiling
Use the wedding budget worksheet to set the amount left for the venue, food and drinks after other expenses. If a bundle includes something already allocated elsewhere, move that expense into the bundle column once. Do not count it twice or treat an included service you do not need as a saving.
Keep a subtotal for confirmed costs and a separate list of unknowns. A quote with cheaper hire but several missing amounts is not yet a cheaper wedding. Ask for those amounts before comparing final totals.
A small group needs a different check
A room that seats 120 may accommodate 30, but its hire fee, minimum spend and atmosphere might not suit that gathering. The small Stellenbosch guide looks at actual spaces and indoor limits rather than ranking venues by price.
