Cape Town and the West Coast
Beach wedding venues in Cape Town and nearby worth exploring
Three coastal options, with the ceremony location, shelter and travel questions made clear.

When you picture a beach wedding, do you mean standing on sand, hearing the ocean from a terrace or eating dinner with a sea view? These are different venue searches. A coastal photograph does not establish that you can hold a ceremony on the beach.
Here are two Cape Town coastal properties and a wider West Coast alternative. Use them to compare the ceremony location, sheltered plan and guest journey. Strandkombuis is in Yzerfontein, outside Cape Town.
Find a venue that works for both of you
For R299 once-off, Vowspan personally researches three real Western Cape venues around both partners’ preferences and shared wedding brief. We contact venues for pricing, so you don’t have to.
Use the guide below to decide what matters, then share your guest count, preferred area and budget with us.
Three coastal places to explore
Official venue pages and the linked Lagoon Beach 2026 package were checked on 14 October 2026. Request the current arrangements for your date; published packages do not establish availability or permission for a different beach.
Lagoon Beach Hotel in Milnerton
Lagoon Beach’s official wedding page links its 2026 package. That pack describes an outdoor ceremony option and an indoor alternative for unfavourable weather. This makes it a useful starting point if you want a hotel setting alongside the coast.
Ask the hotel to identify the exact ceremony position, seated capacity and reserved indoor alternative on a plan. If you want to be on the sand, have it confirm who arranges the required permission for that exact location and what is included in your booking. This guide does not establish permission for a public-beach ceremony.
See Lagoon Beach’s official wedding page and linked 2026 package.
Tintswalo Atlantic on Chapman’s Peak Drive
Tintswalo Atlantic’s official site describes a boutique hotel beside the Atlantic on Chapman’s Peak Drive and invites wedding enquiries. It is an ocean-side option, rather than evidence of a sandy-beach ceremony.
If you like the coastal atmosphere but prefer firm ground underfoot, ask which terrace or indoor spaces can host the ceremony and meal. Confirm wedding capacity, exclusive-use requirements, accommodation commitments and the route from guest arrival to the celebration.
Explore Tintswalo Atlantic’s official setting and event enquiry.
Strandkombuis in Yzerfontein, on the wider West Coast
Strandkombuis is on Strandkombuis Road in Yzerfontein. Its official wedding page describes a setting between dunes and sea, with separate areas for the ceremony, drinks and reception. It offers wedding packages and coordination, with wedding decorations excluded from the stated general package description.
Ask which ceremony area your package reserves, whether it is on sand or a firm surface, and how guests move between the spaces. Get a specific wind-and-rain plan rather than assuming that being in the dunes means the ceremony is sheltered.
Explore Strandkombuis’s official wedding details. Check its Yzerfontein address.
Choose the actual ceremony position
Ask for a marked plan or a short video from the exact spot. Check the ground, chair placement, aisle, sound equipment and the walk from parking. A terrace, lawn and sandy beach might share the same view while creating different access and setup needs.
Ask who controls the space and who confirms any permission that applies to the proposed ceremony. Do not assume a reception booking includes permission to use nearby public land. Request written confirmation from the organiser or responsible authority before planning that use.
Make the sheltered plan part of the booking discussion
- Name the alternate ceremony space and check it holds the whole guest list seated, with the same access needs.
- Ask who makes the move decision, by what time and who moves the chairs, flowers and sound equipment.
- Confirm whether shelter, setup labour and additional equipment are included or charged separately.
- Discuss microphones, secure décor, shade and a route guests can use comfortably in the conditions on the day.
Compare the guest journey as well as the view
For Yzerfontein, plan travel as a separate decision from a wedding in Milnerton. Decide who needs to stay, who books rooms and whether transport is arranged. The accommodation guide separates wedding capacity from the number who can sleep over.
Use our venue questions to complete the enquiry. If one of you loves the ocean and the other needs a comfortable indoor reception, put both requirements into the same brief.
